The strongest people are not those
who show their strength in front of us but those
who win battles we know nothing about.

 

We think we are supposed to be macho, masculine and tough all the time, even and especially when we’re unwell. Just because we may not be physically or visibly sick, we believe that we aren’t genuinely ill, that we don’t deserve vulnerability and help from others.

Let’s work together to eradicate the stigma and taboo around Men’s Mental Health and the false belief that we as men need to ignore our emotional wellbeing or tackle everything in our life by ourselves.

Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing are important to everyone.

Yet, in addition to general topics for therapy, men are disproportionally affected by a societal stigma around mental health, vulnerability and seeking support. When I grew up, emotional wellbeing was treated as a taboo topic by the male authority figures in my life, be it teachers, uncles, cousins or my own dad. Some of them developed anxieties and phobias, others ended up in prison or suffered from severe psychosomatic illnesses due to their bottled-up frustrations, aggressions and emotional challenges. Not the role models you necessarily want in your life.

Let’s make sure you become your own role model and best friend and inspire those around you. Phenomenal mental health is only one conversation away.
