LGBTQ+ Mental Health:
Finding Support that Sees the Whole You
Therapy from Queer to Queer
If you’ve ever walked into a therapy room and wondered whether your therapist truly gets it… you’re not alone.
As someone who is part of the LGBTQIAP+ community myself, I know how much it matters to feel seen, safe, and understood. Not just tolerated. Not just accepted. Celebrated.
In our work together, you’ll enter a space where your identity isn't something you have to explain or tiptoe around. It’s welcomed, respected, and valued as part of what makes you, you.
You won’t need to filter your story.
You won’t need to educate your therapist on terminology.
And you won’t need to shrink yourself to be understood.

What LGBTQ+ Clients Often Bring to Therapy
Of course, queer people face many of the same challenges as everyone else: anxiety, burnout, family stress, career changes. But there are also experiences specific to life as an LGBTQ+ person that deserve attention, space, and support.
These are some of the topics we might explore together:
-

Fertility, parenting, or planning a family as an LGBTQ+ person
Rebuilding trust after rejection or trauma

Navigating discrimination or microaggressions
Challenges around faith, culture, or family rejection
Career misalignment or feeling like you're hiding part of yourself at work
Living at the intersection of multiple identities (race, age, gender, ability, etc.)
These aren’t just “issues to fix.” They’re deeply human experiences, worthy of care, compassion, and curiosity.

My Story and Why I Do This Work
I didn’t grow up in a place where people like me were visible.
Raised in a small rural village and a Roman Catholic household, I learned early on how to edit myself. What not to say. How not to walk. Who not to be.
There were no LGBTQ+ people around me who felt safe to look up to. No one who could show me what an authentic queer life could look like.
That’s why this work is personal.
That’s why it matters to me that you don’t have to go through this alone.
Therapy and coaching can offer a place where you build self-trust, grow confidence, and start showing up in the world as your full self. Not the edited version. My clients often say they feel more grounded, more empowered, and more honest with themselves and others.

What Working Together Can Look Like
Whether you're exploring who you are or you're well into your journey and looking for support to navigate life’s next chapter, you’re welcome here.
Some clients come to unpack trauma or burnout. Others want to stop people-pleasing and start living more boldly. Some want to work on dating, career alignment, or feeling confident in their own skin. Others just want to talk to someone who understands without needing to over-explain.
In every case, our sessions are shaped around you.
With a mix of therapy, coaching, and hypnotherapy, we’ll tailor our approach to fit what you need. And that includes making space for humour, grief, hope, and everything in between.
Let’s Make This Journey Less Lonely
There’s no single path to healing, but it helps to have someone walking with you. If you’re queer and looking for support that understands the layers of your life, not just the surface: this space is for you.
Your queerness isn’t the problem.
It’s part of your brilliance.
And it deserves care, attention, and celebration.
